BUOB 3 E.ON Reserves 1

Bramford welcomed Eon Reserves to a blustery Bourne Park on Sunday and gained three points in what was a fairly tight encounter. All of the early running was made by the home side who were playing into the wind and some neat approach play provided some good opportunities which were not taken.

A defensive slip presented the visitors with the opening goal which was well slotted home into an unguarded net and then a penalty was awarded to Bramford just prior to a loose ball being tucked into the Eon net. Stuart Rodger's kick went just past the left post with the home players wishing advantage had been played. However, it was new boy Drew Turner who contributed to the equaliser with a fine assist to Ian Buxton who tucked the ball past the oncoming keeper. The second half saw further opportunities for Bramford and one or two good breaks for Eon until another fine flick by Drew Turner sent Ian Buxton away once again and a fine lob over the keeper saw Bramford take the lead.

The result was put beyond doubt when the outstanding Aron Boorman sent Mattie McLaughlin away and his powerful drive into the far corner left the keeper helpless.

A good start with some pleasing on the eye football in difficult conditions. It's good to be back into the Sunday morning routine!
