BUOB 2 Trimley Rangers 2

A much better effort from Bramford who took the game to Trimley from the start and created many opportunities that should have produced more than a two goal lead at the break.

With the usual centre midfield partnership of Stuart Rodger and Scott Welton Bramford's flowing football frequently exposed the visitor's defence who were forced into some last ditch clearances. At the back, Aaron Boorman and Darren Smith were quite secure and ably supported by full backs Shaun Smith and Mattie Pryke.

Ian Buxton lead the line in his usual style and from one sweeping move was on hand to fire Bramford into the lead when he shot hard and low into the corner of the net. Trimley did have a couple of breaks which caused some concern in the Bramford defence but keeper Gary Cox's handling was excellent.

The second goal arrived from another Bramford break which saw a fine cross from Stan Wragg headed home firmly by Ian Buxton with the keeper not moving. Further good chances were not taken by the hosts who suffered the loss of Stuart Rodger who was caught on the ankle and departed just before the break.

The visitors threw everything at Bramford from the restart, particularly with long throws and crosses into the box but the arrears were not reduced until twenty minutes had passed when a corner was nodded home at the near post rather too easily.

Bramford still had opportunities to regain their two goal cushion but chances went begging and with fifteen minutes remaining Trimley were level when Gary Cox was left exposed and a fierce shot found the back of the net. Further crosses and throw ins ensued but back came Bramford with two great chances to steal the points, first of all Ian Buxton was on the end of a fine cross, only to lift his effort over the bar and then Aaron Boorman's first touch let him down when he had just the keeper to beat from eight yards.

In between these opportunities Ian Buxton headed home from another Stan Wragg cross only to be adjudged offside. So the points were shared which suited Trimley more than Bramford.

Thanks to Bill Freeman who replaced our originally delegated referee at the eleventh hour.
