This was a really entertaining encounter at Bourne Park where the hosts held on to record a fine scalp by defeating Division 1 outfit Owl & Pussycat in the ITFC Community Trophy.

The hosts started really brightly and with the outstanding Scott Welton and Mattie McLaughlin in midfield, the visitor's defence were at full stretch to cope with some exhilarating attacks down the flanks where Asherly Rose and Adam Turner supplied a stream of crosses for the energetic Ian Buxton and his strike partner Ricky O'Neill.

It was only a matter of time before Bramford went ahead, Adam Turner side footing his effort just inside the far post following a clever pass from Ricky O'Neill. It wasn't long before Ian Buxton got the second, finishing strongly, giving the Owl & Pussycat keeper no chance. His second followed after half an hour when he again finished well after some nice passing through midfield and a through ball from Darren Smith.

The second half was the exact opposite as the visitors pressed strongly from the start and only a minute had passed before a wonderful strike into the far corner following a fine cross from the right gave home keeper gary Cox no chance.

The lead was reduced to a single goal when the unfortunate Gary Cox was caught out with an unkind bounce and then Bramford's defence were really up against it but Aaron Boorman, Darren Smith, Mattie Pryke and Shaun Smith held firm.

Having weathered the storm the hosts began to threaten again and both Scott Welton and Drew Turner were desparately unlucky not to get on the score sheet.. A fine victory in a keen, sporting encounter.
