E.ON Reseves 1 BUOB 4
Three very welcome points were earned by a still depleted Bramford side who finally got their act together in what was a very one sided second half at Gainsborough.
E.On almost took the lead within the first couple of minutes with a through ball that exposed the Bramford defence but keeper Gary Cox saved the day, rushing to the edge of his area to block the effort. Bramford were having a lot of the play, but did not make the most of their opportunities, the nearest they came to scoring being from a fine cross from the left which Ian Buxton put narrowly over the bar.
The hosts forced a number of corners which Bramford defended quite well, but just before the break Marlon Stuart did a Drogba and scored with a speculative shot that flew over Gary Cox and into the net.
The second period was largely played in the E.On half with the home defence under great pressure and the scores were finally levelled when Adam Turner, put through by Ian Buxton, drove low and hard into the bottom corner. A second followed soon after when the impressive Scott Welton carried the ball forward past two defenders and unleashed a fierce shot into the right hand corner.
With the home defence tiring, further goals were on the cards and it was Asherly Rose, put through by Drew Turner, who fired home from inside the box to make it 3-1. With ten minutes remaining on the clock, Bramford were awarded a free kick twenty yards out and Darren Smith scored spectacularly, driving over the wall and into the top right hand corner.
A nice Christmas present from a game played in a good spirit and well refereed by Andy Chapman........frame that one Andy! Merry Xmas to all!
